Seneca beats Eisenhower 2-1
ERIE — The Eisenhower Knights boys soccer team (1-2) traveled to Seneca (2-2) to take on the Bobcats and nearly came away with the win, ultimately dropping the close game 2-1.
The Bobcats scored two goals in the first three minutes of the game before the Knights’ Logan Degnan scored at the 20-minute mark of the first half to make the score 2-1 in favor of the home team.
The Knights played aggressively on defense the entire game as they shut down Seneca and went into the half down 2-1.
Both teams had chances to score, but with both schools playing keepaway with the ball and the goalkeepers keeping the ball out of the net, the game ended with the Bobcats edging the Knights.
“I thought our boys played a great game, it’s a shame someone had to lose in a game like today’s,” Eisenhower head coach Michael Taylor said. “Our boys deserved to win, it just wasn’t meant to be today. Hopefully we’ve turned the corner and can continue to play like we did today. … Just super proud of the effort they gave today.”
