Eagles drop lopsided game to Waterford

WATERFORD — No matter how good the team, there are always games where the game tape is burned and the contest is never spoken of again.

Monday just may be one of those games for the Youngsville Eagles baseball team.

Eagles pitching issued 11 walks and the defense committed three errors in a lopsided 11-1 loss to Cambridge Springs in Waterford.

Youngsville (12-4) faced its largest deficit of the season on Monday and didn’t score until plating a single run in the top of the fifth inning. Matt DeSimone singled and later scored from first on a hard-hit RBI double from Nathan Lucks.

DeSimone led the way with two hits and Lucks and Ian Mancuso added one hit each in the loss.

The Eagles will attempt to get back on the winning track today when they host Forest Area in a doubleheader at Davis Street Field in Youngsville.
