Dragons win at Corry, playoffs next

CORRY — Warren’s boys basketball team used a 29-12 second quarter to race past Corry, winning 85-58 on Friday at Corry Area High School in the regular-season finale for both teams.

Next up is the District 10 4A playoffs for the Dragons with a time, place and opponent to be announced.

“I thought we played hard and really picked up our rebounding and defense after a slower start in the first couple minutes of the game,” said Warren coach Jeff Berdine, whose Dragons finish the regular season at 15-7 overall and with five straight wins.

Senior Parks Ordiway scored 16 of his 18 points in the first half to help the Dragons build a 22-point halftime lead. Warren, once again, finished with four players in double figures in scoring. Tommy Nyquist had 15 points, Owen Becker 14 and Brady Berdine 12. Braylon Barnes contributed 9 points and Jack Darling 8 as nine Dragons in all got on the scoreboard.

Warren finishes at 7-3 and the top 4A team in Region 6. Corry (4A) finishes 11-11 overall and 3-7 in the region.

In Friday’s junior varsity game, Corry won, 44-37. Kamdyn Moon led Corry with 18 points. Chase Sitler had 15 points and Jacob McMeans 13 for Warren.
