Eisenhower wrestles well at Morales Tournament

FALCONER, N.Y. — The Eisenhower Knights wrestling team had a tough week on the mats last week, with two dual matches and the always tough Falconer Pat Morales tournament over the weekend, but if they were tired they didn’t show it on the mats.

The Knights took the short trip to Falconer and were determined to make their mark in the 25 team field of teams. At the close of the tournament the Eisenhower wrestlers took sixth place overall.

Led by Cole Kellogg’s third place finish in the 138-pound weight class, Kellogg had to wrestle back through the consolation brackets to place third. Kellogg suffered an early round loss to the number one seed, Knights head coach Jared Lindell on Kellogg “Cole had to wrestle back and he wrestled huge to get third after losing to the tournament champ early.”

While Kellogg placed highest the team as a whole had a great weekend, Senior Brock English at 215 pounds, Lindell on English ” Brock put an exclamation point on a great week of wrestling with a strong finish.”

Fellow senior Benji Bauer at 189 pounds both finished in fifth place. Griffin Williams placed sixth at 114 pounds and teammate Tucker Lindell at 160 pounds both had sixth place finishes.

Jared Lindell was impressed by his team’s effort ” This is such a tough tournament with a huge field of wrestlers, I thought our guys wrestled great, there is just no quit in this team.”

Brok English 5th place 215 pounds

Benji Bauer 5th place 189 pounds

Griffin Williams 6th place 114 pounds

Tucker Lindell 6th place 160 pounds
