Warren golfers Blum, Damore named region all-stars
Submitted Photo Owen Blum, left, and Braddock Damore have been recognized for their fine play during the fall golf season.
Warren’s boys golf team finished a strong fourth in Region 6 during the fall season, but Owen Blum and Braddock Damore finished fourth and seventh, individually, in all of District 10 3A.
For their accolades in region mega-matches, the senior Blum and junior Damore have also been named Region 6 first-team all-stars. All-region teams and region golfers of the year are based on stroke averages from region competition.
Blum was a second-team region all-star as a sophomore and now has back-to-back first-team accolades. Damore was a second-team all-star last year as a sophomore and has now added a first-team nod.
Blum’s best score was a 9-hole 35 (multiplied by two to 70 for scoring purposes) to finish as medalist on Sept. 20 at home — Blueberry Hill Golf Course. Damore opened the season with a 73 at Beechwood Golf Course in Fairview, and he added an even-par 72 at the Marquette Meadville Invitational.
Blum shot a 36-hole 159 (77-82) at the D-10 championship golf tournament at The Country Club of Meadville. Damore carded a two-day 160 (81-79).
