Erie First Christian hands Youngsville defeat

YOUNGSVILLE — The Youngsville volleyball struggled with its communication Wednesday and it showed on the scoreboard as the Eagles were on the losing end of a 3-0 decision.

The visiting Eagles from Erie First Christian opened the match with a 25-14 victory and didn’t look back adding identical 25-18 scores in games two and three of the match.

Despite the setback, the Youngsville squad did have several standout performers including Riley Robinault with three kills, Dilyn Moore with 13 digs and Mandie Irvine with five blocks. Madi Johnson and Alyssa Gentz also added 10 digs apiece.

Erie First Christian also won the junior varsity match with game wins of 25-16 and 25-23. Peyton Kent had five kills for Youngsville and Harlee Swearingen added four digs.

Youngsville will look to end a tough campaign on a high note on Friday when they visit Tidioute. The Eagles’ lone win of the season came against the Bulldogs last month.

Starting at $3.50/week.
