Warren sweeps again
Warren’s volleyball team is playing at a high level to open the 2022 season.
The Dragons earned their second home sweep in as many nights on Wednesday, defeating Corry, 25-17, 25-18, 25-19, at Warren Area High School.
“It was a nice team win all the way around in an electric atmosphere at WAHS,” said Warren coach Mike Dolan, whose Dragons are 3-0. “Summer Lucks did a great job with the defense and passing tonight. Alexia (Bowers) had some big digs as well. Kylie (Fehlman) made some big plays at the net.”
Maddy Jones led with 11 kills and two aces, Fehlman had nine kills, setter Lindsay Madigan 32 assists, Carly Beers five kills, two aces and eight digs, Lucks 19 digs and two aces and Bowers four kills, two aces and 13 digs.
“Hopefully we keep playing at a high level like this,” said Dolan. “There were quite a few long rallies where both teams were playing great defense, but I feel like we were able to stay on the attack and finish points.”
In a 25-22, 18-25, 8-15 junior varsity loss, Lauren Fajbik seven kills for Warren, Lilly Newton four kills, Sophie Walker 13 digs, Maddie Nosel three aces, three kills and three digs, Delaney Wright four digs and 10 assists, Elissa Errett four assists, Lily Walker three kills and Tori Solberg one kill.
