JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — Brady Berdine was nearly perfect.
Mark Holm was, too.
Together, Olean’s starter and closer baffled Jamestown en route to a 4-2 victory in Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League action at Diethrick Park on Wednesday night.
Berdine, a Warren native who had played for the Tarp Skunks in previous summers, tossed six scoreless innings, yielded just one hit, struck out six and walked two in a 78-pitch masterpiece that raised his record to 2-1.
Holm, meanwhile, recorded five outs — all via strikeout — for his second save.

The win improved the Oilers’ record to 7-5 while Jamestown dropped to 11-3.
The game was scoreless until the fourth inning when Olean plated three runs against Tarp Skunks starter Tait Johnson (1-2).
Derek Staudt was issued a leadoff walk, Thomas Bates singled and, after retiring the next two batters, Johnson surrendered an RBI single to center field by Cooper Tarlie to give the Oilers a 1-0 lead. The next batter, Christo Hunsicker, followed with a two-run double to left to push Olean’s advantage to 3-0.
Santino Musone came on in relief for Jamestown in the fifth and worked into the seventh where he gave up an unearned run on a fielder’s choice to pinch-hitter Logan Koslin that extended the Oilers’ lead to 4-0.
The Tarp Skunks finally plated a run in the seventh against reliever Jake Manendo, courtesy of a sacrifice fly by Eric Weeks and added one more in the eighth on Anthony Trommer’s single to left. That prompted Olean to bring in Holm, who immediately walked Matthew Dumas to load the bases with one out and the top of the order coming up. But the left-hander struck out Grant Moore and Heath Fetchik to end the threat. And, in the ninth, he was even more impressive as he retired the side in order, all via strikeout.
The Oilers collected only five hits off four Jamestown pitchers, three of them by Thomas Bates.
The Tarp Skunks, who managed only four hits, squandered a scoring opportunity in the second inning when Blake Herman led off with a single and advanced to second when Caleb Jordan walked with no outs, but Jackson Enders grounded into a double play and Herman was eventually tagged out when he attempted to steal home.
Jamestown returns to action at 6:30 tonight when it entertains Niagara Falls.
