Youngsville entered Wednesday night’s volleyball match with county rival Eisenhower looking to shake off the sting of a pair of season-opening losses.

The Lady Eagles went point for point with the Knights at Youngsville High School, but the first win of the year ultimately fell just out of reach as Eisenhower claimed a 25-18, 25-22, 25-19 victory.

Dilyn Moore had a strong game in defeat, logging a team-high 10 digs and four blocks. Olivia Darling and Riley Robinault led the Youngsville effort with five kills apiece. Alyssa Gentz finished with six digs while Madilyn Johnson, Allyson Johnson and Kamden Swearingen added five digs each.

The Knights also won the junior varsity contest in two sets, 25-16, 25-15. Harlee Swearingen had four digs to lead the Lady Eagles.

Youngsville will continue its quest for its first victory of 2022 on Tuesday when it travels to Cambridge Springs.
