Softball tournament

The 30th annual Michael J. Kolos Memorial Coed Softball Tournament will be held at the end of this month.

Presented by Paws Along the River Humane Society, the tournament will be held, beginning at 8 a.m., July 30 at Betts Park in Warren. The entry fee is $260 per team. Rosters are due by July 26.

Golf leagues

RUSSELL — Al Schumann had quite a day in Week 11 of the Friday Senior Men’s League at Cable Hollow Golf Course.

Schumann had the low net (32), the most points for the week (8.5) and tied with Jim Leaskey with the most pars (six). He is also the season’s top point-getter (55.5).

In other highlights, Bill Petransky shot the low gross with a 39 and had a birdie; Bob Zurcher eagled No. 16; Tim Ford collected two birdies; and Will Avery, Pete Hofert, Dave Garey and Fred Carder had one birdie.

WARREN — Joe Saber shot a 37 gross on the front nine and Shane Flannery recorded a 36 gross on the back nine to highlight the Tueday Night League at Jackson Valley Golf Club.

Other results were Terry English 34 for senior low gross; John Sabat, Steve Sixt, Dru Freeborough, Gary Freeborough and Randy Thomas each with a 36 for low net; and Joby Wolfe with a 31 for senior lowet net, all on the front nine.

On the back nine, Chet Loomis had a 38 for senior lwo gross; Mark Sweet had a 30 for low net; and John Gray and Jon Munksgard both had a 34 for senior low net.
