Warren hosting 7-on-7 scrimmages

The Warren High School football team will host the first of three 7-on-7 summer scrimmages next Thursday in preparation for the upcoming season.

The scrimmage, which will start at 5:30 p.m., will include six teams — Warren, Clarion, Southwestern (New York), St. Marys, Hollidaysburg and Brookville — at the Warren practice field; and five teams — Eisenhower, Port Allegany, Northeast, Keystone and Corry — at the Beaty Field.

Following is the schedule:

Warren High School practice field: Game 1, Warren vs. Clarion, and Southwestern vs. St. Marys (Brookville and Hollidaysburg bye); Game 2, Southwestern vs. Brookeville, and Clarion vs. Hollidaysburg (St. Marys and Warren bye); Game 3, St. Marys vs. Brookville, and Warren vs. Hollidaysburg (Clarion and Southwestern bye); Game 4, Warren vs. Southwestern, and Clarion vs. St. Marys (Brookville and Hollidaysburg bye); Game 5, Southwestern vs. Hollidaysburg, and Brookville vs. Clarion (St. Marys and Warren bye); and Game 6, Warren vs. Brookville, and St. Marys vs. Hollidaysburg (Clarion and Southwestern bye).

Beaty Field: Game 1, Port Allegany vs. Eisenhower and Northeast vs. Corry (Keystone bye); Game 2, Northeast vs. Port Allegany, and Eisenhower vs. Keystone (Corry bye); Game 3, Corry vs. Port Allegany, and Northeast vs. Keystone (Eisenhower bye); Game 4, Keystone vs. Corry, and Northeast vs. Eisenhower (Port Allegany bye); and Game 5, Keystone vs. Port Allegany, and Corry vs. Eisenhower (Northeast bye).

Each game will start at the 40-yard line, with a first down on the 20. Games are running clock, 20 minutes in length. The whistle will blow for the two-minute warning, and the team with the ball will finish its series and the game will be done.

On Saturday, July 16, Warren will host the second annual eight-team junior varsity tournament and on Saturday, July 23 Warren will participating in the Corry Big Man/7-on-7 Tournament.
