YOUNGSVILLE — There is nothing better than a county rivalry and, in Warren County, an Eisenhower-Youngsville matchup is pretty special.
In the latest showdown, the Lady Knights outlasted the Lady Eagles 9-7 in a softball game Thursday.
“It was just a really good game played by both teams,” Eisenhower coach Rich Pascuzzi said. “These county games are always a fun time.”
The Knights’ Taylor Napolitan was the winning pitcher, holding Youngsville scoreless in the final three innings.
“I thought both pitchers did a nice job, but Taylor holding them scoreless down the stretch was big, no doubt about it, Pascuzzi said.

With the score tied 7-7 in the fifth inning, Eisenhower got a run on Tracey Jakubczaack’s RBI single, a lead it never relinquished.
Jakubczack finished with two hits and two RBIs; and Kailee Morrison had two singles and a triple, and drove in three runs.
Youngsville was led by Alyssa Gentz and Ireland Abraham (two RBIs), who each had three hits.
“The girls played a hard-fought, back-and-forth game and never gave up,” Eagles coach Scott Ishman said. “I am really proud of the way they played.”
