A total of 152 players will participate in this year’s New York/Pennsylvania Corporate Cup Soccer Showcase at Bradford High School on July 24.

Tryouts this past Sunday and next week will determine which of the eight teams players will be a member of. There will be four Gold match teams and four Silver match teams. The girls Silver match will take place at noon followed by the boys Silver match at 2:30 p.m. The girls Gold players will take the pitch at 5 p.m. followed by the boys Gold match at 7:30 p.m.

Each Gold team will consist of the top 22 players selected and each Silver team will consist of players 23-38 selected.

The Gold match coaches are coaches from area high school varsity teams. The Silver match coaches are players that have previously played in the NY/PA Corporate Cup Soccer Showcase and have since graduated high school, but still want to be involved in the games and give back to current and future players.

The head coach for the Pennsylvania Gold boys will be St. Marys’ Mike Shaffer. He will be assisted by Matt Erickson of DuBois, T.J. Weaver of Ridgway/Johnsonburg, Rene Saquin of Kane and Chris Darling of Warren.

The head coach for the Pennsylvania Gold girls team will be Warren’s Jeremy Bickling. He will be assisted by Maddie Williams of Curwensville, Brittany Sprankle of Kane and Michaela Cashmer of Elk County Catholic.

Hinsdale’s Devin Kinney will be the head coach of the New York Gold boys team. Assistants will be J.J. McIntosh of Portville, Mike Zilker of Bolivar-Richburg, Jon Luce of Allegany-Limestone and Nick Perillo of Cuba-Rushford.

Belfast’s Duane Powers will be the head coach of the New York Gold girls team. Assistants will be Allegany-Limestone’s Dale MacArthur, Bolivar-Richburg’s Mark Emery, Frewsburg’s Scott Stone and Cuba-Rushford/Hinsdale’s John Fitzpatrick.

Bradford’s Evan Schmidt and Elk County Catholic’s Olivia Sorg will coach the Pennsylvania Silver boys and girls teams, respectively.

Olean’s Max Linderman and Rylie Gumtow will coach the New York Silver boys and girls teams, respectively.

Final rosters will be announced on April 11.
