The mission to save lives and make highways safer is the prime reason for the Warren County Victim Impact Panel, which educates the public on safe driving.
The “Rockin’ Robin” 5K began three years ago, and recently held their 2026 event where they were able to raise over $3200 towards this year’s educational scholarship.
The Victim Impact Panel was put together in the late 1990’s to help people see the ramifications that are caused by the poor decision of drunk driving. People who lost loved ones in auto accidents, or were injured victims, speak at SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) events. Those convicted of a DUI, are required to come to the panel, which takes place at the Warren County Courthouse three or four times a year and are open to the public.
Each year, scholarship applications are due in April. A panel made up of survivors and others interested, help to make a decision on the recipient, who will be contacted by the end of the month of May.
