Certification classes for volleyball officials set to start this week

BEMUS POINT, N.Y. — The Southern Tier West Board of Certified Volleyball Officials will be conducting classes for all individuals interested in officiating high school volleyball in Chautauqua and Cattaraugus County, starting in the fall of 2022.

The class will consist of four classroom sessions to be held at Maple Grove High School located at 3980 Dutch Hollow Road, Bemus Point, NY, 14712 in room 202. The classes will be held on March 9, 16, 23 and 30. The sessions will run from 6:30-8:30 p.m. each night.

Additional floor practical training will be held on Monday evenings during the high school girls summer volleyball league with a specific date and place to be announced later.

The fee to take the course is $30 (non-refundable) to enroll in the course to cover the cost of New York State Certified Volleyball Officials Insurance requirements. At the completion of the entire course and summer league an additional $70 will be due to cover your board dues if you wish to continue.
