MEADVILLE — The Eisenhower boys basketball team faces a familiar opponent in the opening round of the District 10 playoffs tonight when they take on regional opponent Cambridge Springs at Meadville High School.
Tip-off is at 6 p.m.
The two teams — the Knights are 9-4 in the region and 12-9 overall, while the Blue Devils are 10-3 and 12-8 — split the season series with each team winning at home.
“They are definitely a very good team and have been one of the top teams in the region for the last few years,” Eisenhower coach Ryan Mangini said. “They have playoff experience and know what to expert come playoff time.”
Offensively, the Knights average 51 points per game while yielding 48. Meanwhile, the Blue Devils score, on average, 55 points on offense and give up 52.

Eisenhower is led by junior wingman Wyatt Lookenhouse (16 ppg), while Cambridge Springs’ top player is 6-foot-5 Nathan Hield (15 ppg).
“We match up well with them,” Mangini said. “We obviously have to keep Hield in check.”
Mangini noted that the team has had a good week of practice, “with the focus on being prepared from the start.”
“We beat every team in the region,” he continued, “so … we know we can compete with anyone. We just have to come out ready to play from the opening tip-off.
“We have to win the turnover battle and outrebound them. We have to come out ready and be relentless in our play.”
