Freshmen boys basketball

Brookville defeated Warren’s freshmen boys basketball team, 54-40, to win a 4-team 9th-grade tournament on Saturday in Warren.

Kellen Haines scored 14 of his game-high 25 points in the second half for Brookville, which defeated Titusville earlier in the day to advance to the championship game. Chase Sitler paced Warren with 18 points. Casey Rich added 10 points for Warren and David Huffman 6.

Earlier on Saturday, Warren topped Bradford, 41-35, to advance to the final. Sitler finished with 24 points, Grady Corey 8 and Reid Olsen 6 in the win.

Mekhi Jones had 11 points and Lucas Terwilliger 10 to lead Bradford.
