Nearly 500 people took part in the Firecracker 10K and 2-mile run/walk on Saturday in Lakewood, N.Y. The overall first-place finisher in the 10K was Travis Prejean (218) of Fuquay Farina, N.C. with a time of 32:44 to hold off Samuel Lindell, pictured above, of Warren, who finished in 32:50. The top female finisher was Brooke Langworthy (67) of East Aurora, who posted a time of 44:07. Rachel Greszler of Bethesda, Md. was second in 44:44. The top male and female finishers in the 2-mile run were Clay Burnett and Lisa Burnett of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, who completed the course in 10:13 and 12:20 respectively. Leading the way in the 2-mile walk were Laurie Williams of Frewsburg and Brenda Falkner of Hamburg, who finished one-two with identical 23:56 times.
