Warren sweeps Mercyhurst Prep

ERIE — For the second time in a week, Warren swimming swept Mercyhurst Prep.

The Lady Dragons won, 106-60, and the boys, 104-42.

“The kids did really well,” said Warren swim coach Russ Beyer. “We had some kids swim different events. We had two more qualify for districts — Max Harrison in the 100 breast and Summer Lucks 200 freestyle, and some almost qualifiers — Graham Carr in the 50 free and the 100 fly. Katie Krogler swam the 500 for the first time and did very well, and Kirsten Johnson swam the 500 and just missed qualifying by a couple seconds.”

Lucks won the 100 free and 200 free (in 2:14.91), Samantha Caudill the 100 breaststroke, Kirsten Johnson the 200 individual medley (in 2:30.39), and Katie Beyer won the 100 butterfly, 100 backstroke, and was on the winning 400 free relay with Sophie Olson, Lucks, and Johnson. Katie Madigan again finished first in diving.

“Sophie Olson and Eliza Brook had good meets,” said coach Beyer. “They had their best times of the year, creeping closer to districts. Brooke Peterson did very well. Her and Jack Seyler and Cristian Johnson, every meet they seem to get a little faster. Maddie Walker and Brody Alexander did well.”

For the boys, Hugh Harrison won the 200 free and 100 back, Derek Hahn the 200 IM and 100 butterfly, Max Harrison the 50 free and 100 breast, Cristian Johnson the 100 free, Connor and Fehlman the 500 free. The team of Carr, Hahn, and Hugh Harrison and Max Harrison won the 400 free, and the 200 medley relay.

Starting at $3.50/week.
