Sheffield boys breeze to easy basketball win

Sheffield scored 23 points in each of the first two quarters to post a dominating win over visiting Forest Area

Monday night 73-9, in a nonleague boys basketball game.

Five Wolverines had double-digit points, with Tony Richards leading the pack with 17, including two 3-point goals. Lucas McNeal tallied 14 points, while Caden Copley added 13. Copley went 5 of 5 from the free-throw line. Overall the Wolverines were 10 of 12 in free throws. Connor Finch scored all 10 of his points in the first half, while Leihden Wotorson also had 10.

“Lucas did a good job of moving the ball and attacking offensively,” said Sheffield head coach Jordan Copley. “Defensively he was very active in forcing turnovers and getting to the hoop in transition.”

For Forest Area, Keyon Custer dropped two 3-pointers and was the leading scorer with 6 points.

The Wolverines will travel to Otto-Eldred Wednesday night.
