Kane defeated Youngsville 50-25 on Tuesday in the opener of the Sheffield boys basketball Holiday Tournament at Sheffield High School.
The Wolves topped the Eagles for the second time in a week, having beaten Youngsville 40-26 on Dec. 23.
“Tonight, we actually worked,” said Youngsville coach Gregg Blair. “I’m trying to get their hearts and minds, and I think tonight I got their hearts. … It’s learning the game of basketball for a bunch of young kids. … They all have good skills, and we need to bring it into the team environment. Tomorrow (in the consolation game), it doesn’t matter who we play, we need to have our hearts and our minds into it.”
Andy Jekielek and Jack Bell combined for 13 points in Kane’s 15-5 opening quarter. Jekielek finished with 10 points and Landon Darr led the Wolves (3-2) with 12.
Alex Hill led the Eagles (0-3) with 11.
