CORRY — Logan Joncas poured in nine 3-pointers on his way to 32 points to send Corry to a 66-51 victory over Eisenhower in the first round of the Beavers’ annual Christmas Tournament on Wednesday.
Joncas scored 14 points in both the first and second quarter as the hosts built a 38-23 lead at the break. While the second half was played on even terms, the Knights couldn’t overcome Joncas’ brilliant shooting.
“We knew we had to change things up to try and slow him down,” Eisenhower coach Ryan Mangini said. “He’s a tremendous shooter. … We played much better defense in the second half, but we were down three players, so our starters played a lot of minutes and our fast-break defense suffered because of it.
Wyatt Lookenhouse led Eisenhower with 15 points and Kyler Black chipped in 14.
“I thought Kyler played a nice game on both ends of the court for us tonight,” Mangini said.
