Dunn plays hero for Ike girls
Scores 20, including winning basket, en route to first victory
RUSSELL — Eisenhower picked up a late steal and Mackenzie Dunn converted a layup with 1 second remaining in the game as the Knights earned their first victory of the season 44-43 over Titusville on Wednesday.
Dunn finished with 20 points, 12 rebounds and six steals for Eisenhower.
“The team played hard for 32 minutes and through adversity,” Knights head coach Mike Logue said. “I’m very proud of all the girls.”
Lilly Smyth added 9 points, including a 3-pointer during the fourth quarter.
Lilly Tucker led the Rockets with 12 points and Rylie McGarvie added 11.
Eisenhower led 13-5 after the first quarter and 23-9 at halftime, but Titusville won the fourth quarter 16-8.
