Brockway tops Sheffield in 4 sets
The Sheffield Wolverines were able to put up a good fight Thursday night, while on the road against the Brockway Rovers, but it wasn’t enough to pull off the win, losing 3-1 (23-25, 22-25, 25-20, 20-25).
Following a frustrating loss Wednesday night, Sheffield head coach Melissa Lemay looked for improvement in several areas that she felt the girls were able to begin the process of righting the ship against the Rovers despite the loss.
“We had much improved serve receive tonight,” said Lemay. “So we are moving in the right direction there.” We had too many attack errors tonight.”
Emily Foster recorded 11 kills, while Kassidy Orinko led with 13 herself. Orinko also had 26 digs and three blocks. Lexi Goldthwaite had five kills and ten digs. Kadence Steffan racked up 31 assists and 14 digs.
“We need to be aggressive,” Lemay said. “And I want them to swing, but we need to fix the mistakes that continue to be made with body position and arm swing.”
Sheffield’s Junior Varsity won 27-25, 25-19.
The Wolverines will host Kane Friday afternoon.
