Ike Wins Big

Eisenhower rolls past Franklin in 55-14 victory

RUSSELL — Eisenhower scored a touchdown on its first possession Friday night.

It was a sign of things to come.

Behind a balanced rushing attack, Ike rolled to its third straight victory, breezing past Franklin, 55-14.

Keegan Eckstrom rushed for 81 yards and a touchdown, Benji Bauer added 72 yards and two touchdowns, Shawn Pascuzzi accumulated 70 yards on the ground and one touchdown, and Steven Reilly chipped in 34 yards and another TD.

Tack on a pair of touchdown receptions by Wyatt Lookenhouse and another from Pascuzzi — all from quarterback Garrett Jensen — and a stout effort, it was a fine performance all around for Eisenhower.

“I was happy our guys decided they were going to be the better team tonight,” Eisenhower coach Jim Penley said. “Franklin is a young team and played hard, but our guys were ready. I think our offensive line played a heck of a ballgame up front, just a phenomenal job.”

The guys on the other side of the ball were pretty stout, too.

Eisenhower’s defense limited Franklin to 134 yards in total offense, including just 16 on the ground, and recorded a safety. Special teams got into the act, too, as they successfully recovered a pair of onside kicks and blocked a punt, courtesy of Camron Jakubczack.

Jensen had a fine showing, too completing 3 of 4 passes for 79 yards, the three TD passes and he didn’t turn the ball over.
