The Warren Dragons won the 16-team Fort LeBoeuf tournament Saturday.

In the first round, Warren beat Harbor Creek 25-20, Fairview 25-9 and Chautauqua Lake 25-22. That put the Dragons in the “A” pool for the next round where they defeated Girard 25-14, 25-23 and Maplewood 25-24, 25-20, and split with Saegertown 19-25, 25-19.

The 5-1 record in this pool gave Warren the No. 1 seed heading into playoffs. In the quarterfinals, Warren faced Meadville and came away with a 25-17 win. The Dragons next faced Harbor Creek and won 19-25, 25-17, 15-13. Maplewood defeated host Fort LeBoeuf in the other semifinal. Warren then defeated Maplewood 25-23, 25-19 to win the title.

“It was a great total team effort all day playing some spirited hard-fought games. The team really got after it on defense and stepped up their offense and serving games,” Warren head coach Mike Dolan said. “Katie Madigan, Halee Mineweaser, Ellee Irwin and Carly Beers stood out all-around the court coupled with terrific front-line defense of Kylie Fehlman and Alexia Bowers along with Summer Lucks in the back row.”
