Golf leagues

RUSSELL — Mike’s Townline won the Western Division with 406.5 points and The Duffers won the Eastern Division with 389.5 points in the Senior Men’s League at Cable Hollow Golf Course.

The teams will play for the league championship Friday with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. The rest of the league will play a scramble tournament. A year-end banquet and meeting will follow.

Ken Robeson shot a scratch 36 and Chick Bello followed with a 37.

Robeson also had a net 32 while Rod Seymour and Pat Black had 33s.

Black led with 9.5 points.

Bello made two birdies while Robeson made seven pars. Bello and Pete Hofert each made five pars.

John Bowler finished with the most points for the season with 108.5.

Hole-in-one

ASHVILLE, N.Y. — Keith Martin aced the 172-yard ninth hole with his utility wood on Sept. 2 during the Warren Sheet Metal League at Timber Creek Golf Course. The shot was witnessed by Jim Alexander, Runee Prince and Mark Kezman.

Bill Manning made his first-ever hole-in-one on the eighth hole with his first swing of the day during the Senior Open at Jackson Valley Golf Club. The 78-year-old Manning used his 7-iron to accomplish the feat.

Trap leagues

In the first shoot of the Warren County Fall Trap League, Tidioute came in first, followed by Brokenstraw and Pine Grove.

Perfect 50s were shot by Tidioute’s John Kanyuck Sheffield’s Lee Dunkle.

Pine Grove’s Cindy Cable was High Lady with a 47. Tidioute’s Landon Anderson and Bryceton Maille tied for High Jr. with matching 47s. Corry’s Gavin Munsee was High Sub Jr. with a 44. Dunkle was High Veteran and Kanyuck was High Super Sr. Veteran with their 50s. Tidioute’s Ken Anderson was High Sr. Veteran with a 48.
