County Tax Claim Bureau reminds owners of June 30 deadline
Property owners with delinquent real estate taxes have until June 30 to settle their accounts or enter into a payment agreement with the Warren County Tax Claim Bureau if they wish to avoid having their properties listed in the newspaper.
According to the Tax Claim Bureau, taxes must be paid in full or a payment agreement must be signed in the office by 4 pm on June 30. Property owners who enter into an agreement are required to pay 25% of all delinquent taxes owed to the bureau and complete the necessary paperwork.
The deadline comes ahead of the bureau’s publication of delinquent properties and in advance of the county’s Upset Tax Sale, which is scheduled for Sept. 28.
Property owners can view outstanding balances online by searching with a name, control number or map number. Payments may also be made online. In-person payments are accepted by cash, check, money order or credit card, though convenience fees apply to credit card transactions. The bureau does not accept payments by phone.
Additional fees will be added to delinquent accounts beginning July 1.
Property owners with delinquent taxes are encouraged to review their accounts and address any outstanding balances before the deadline to avoid additional costs and public listing.
