Youth football
The Post Squirrels and Twisters sit atop the Varsity (fifth- and sixth-grade) standings after posting victories in the first week of the Warren County Youth Football League.
Meanwhile, the Trash Pandas and Mud Vipers also claimed victories in the Junior Varsity (third- and fourth-grade) division to lead the way.
VARSITY
Broc Bryan’s touchdown accounted for the only points of the game as the American Legion Post No. 658 Post Squirrels edged the Blue Line Auto Green Hawks, 6-0.

Behind a TD by Tanner Stuart, Taylor’s Treat Twisters held off the Gaughn’s Drug Store Orange Carrots, 6-2.
Recording a safety for the Orange Carrots was Aiden Eger.
JUNIOR VARSITY
Clayton Hammerbeck scored two touchdowns, and Harrison Horner and Ty Bryan found paydirt once apiece as the Pennsylvania State Constable Trash Pandas posted a 24-0 victory over the Superior Tire Blue Devils.

Blake Peterson’s three touchdowns and a two-point conversion led the Warren Times Observer Mud Vipers to a 22-0 victory over the Young’s Landscaping Green Destroyers.
Cameron Lindell added another two-point conversion for the winners.

Youth basketball
Chautauqua Fusion will hold a fall girls basketball clinic, including instruction and game play at Chautauqua Christian Academy on Hunt Road in Jamestown, N.Y.
The clinic will take place on the following nine Sundays: Sept. 12, Sept. 19, Sept. 26, Oct. 3, Oct. 10, Oct. 17, Oct. 24, Nov. 7 and Nov. 14.
Each Sunday, players will receive skill development training led by Chris Dole and other experienced coaches as well as play in a refereed basketball game. The clinic will be divided into a JV girls division and a varsity girls division. Each division is limited to 20 players and will be divided into teams for game play.
The JV division will practice and play from 5-6:30 p.m. each Sunday, and the varsity division will practice and play from 6:30-8 p.m. each Sunday.
The cost of the clinic is $100 player (or $75 per player for multi-player families). Scholarships are available for those in need. All players will receive AAU AB insurance good through Aug. 31, 2022 (a $16 value) and a clinic T-shirt.
