Kindberg steps down from Tarp Skunks’ front office

The Jamestown Tarp Skunks are in the market for a new director of business and sales operations.

Jacob Kindberg, who spearheaded a successful season after the rebrand of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League franchise, has stepped down effective the end of the month.

“Jamestown Community Baseball LLC is honored to have been part of Jacob Kindberg’s successful career journey,” said Russell E. Diethrick Jr., the chairman of the board of managers. “With regret, we announce he will be leaving the organization at the end of August. We will miss his talent and leadership. We wish him well in his exciting future endeavors.”

Kindberg and Jordan Basile, the director of baseball operations, helped facilitate a fine season, which saw the Tarp Skunks win the Western Division title while drawing in excess of 17,000 fans to Diethrick Park.

In addition to a nearly 100% increase in attendance from Jamestown’s 2018 entry in the PGCBL, the team had tremendous success in merchandise sales.

“It really started on opening night. We got 1,500 fans here and had a nice tailgate (party),” Kindberg said in July. “That was a nice kickoff and set the tone for the season. … That momentum has carried us all the way here. I’m happy. I’ve got a lot of good community feedback so far. Certainly, there are some things I’d like to do differently next year, but overall we’re pretty happy where we are.”

Starting at $4.00/week.
