Firecracker Run returning to in-person format

LAKEWOOD, N.Y. — The Lakewood YMCA is holding registrations for the July 4 Firecracker Run, which will be held in person and return as a fixture of the community’s Independance Day celebration.

The race will be held on Saturday, July 3, and will consist of a 10K run, 2-mile run and 2-mile walk. Registration can be done in person at the Lakewood YMCA or online at https://runsignup.com/Race/NY/Lakewood/LakewoodY-Firecracker10K2MileRun. Pre-registration will be through June 26 for $25 and includes a T-shirt. Late registration begins on June 27 for $30, but a T-shirt will not be included. Day-of registration must be done online no later than 8:15 a.m.

Prizes will be awarded to the first three overall male and female finishers. Age-group awards will be presented to the top three finishers in each division. The top five male and female finishers will receive awards for the 2-mile run and the 2-mile walk.
