High school softball

Union City was a 17-0 winner over host Eisenhower in girls softball action.

Abby Tingley tossed a one-hitter to complete the shutout for Union City, striking out nine while Lucy Higley ripped two doubles and a home run.

Eliza Reynolds added a home run in the win as the Bears improved to 12-0 and 10-0 in District 10 Region 2 play.

Delay Chase ripped a single for Eisenhower.

Golf leagues

RUSSELL — Through one week of the Cable Hollow Senior Men’s Friday Golf League, Chick Bellow had the low gross with a 39, Wally Blyth low net with a 34, while there was a tie for most points as Paul Cathcart, Randy Scalise and Pat Farrell each had nine.

Bob Zurcher had a pair of birdies and Bello had seven pars.

In the East Division Cable Hollow Golf has 24 points, Pete’s Team 22, Struthers Wells 20, Schwab’s Copiers 18, The Duffers 18, Game Time 16.5, Maple Place Farms 16, Jones Pest Control 15 and Warren Tire 15.

In the West Division, Slick Brownie has 31 points, Mount Laurel FCU 24, Mike’s Tonwline 22, Community Resource 22, Horseshoe Inn 16, Jones Chevrolet 10.5, Warren Archery 9, 4-Putts 8.5 and Falconer/Frews 0.

NORTH WARREN — In the Conewango Valley Country Club Ladies Day, event Hallie Dubia led the way with a 42 gross, a 38 net and a 25 in strike three.

My Ignatius shot a 37 net and Kirsten Turfitt a 38.

Dubia was also closest to the pin, while Ann Follett shot a 39 net, Marlene Sandberg a 43, Susie Spangler a 45, Judy Dale a 44, Sally Steele a 45, Judy McGinn a 39, Janeal Hedman a 43, Jan Brown a 45.

CASSADAGA — In the Cassadaga Country Club Thursday Night Men’s League, Scott Johnson shot 38, Fred Chamberlin 39, Matt Wallace 39, Rob Kahle 40, Mike Lancaster 40, Alex McQuiggan 40, Don Meder 42, Brian Blizzard 43, Nick Krupa 43, Kerry Murphy 43 and Bob Warsitz 43.

Warsitz was closest to the pin on No. 6, and skins went to Matt Wallace on No. 1 and Dan Gorno on No. 2 with birdies.

WARREN — In the Monday Night Scramble League at Jackson Valley Golf Club, Mike Toter and Jamie Fitch led the A1 Flight with a 31 gross while Fred Utegg and Shayne Redick shot a 34 net.

In the A2 Flight, Brandon Franklin and Andy Hanks shot a 32 gross while Joe Saber and Gary Freeborough shot a 32 net.

In the B1 Flight, Mike Moyer Jr. and Todd Gourley hit a 34 gross, and Randy Carlson and Kihm Carlson had a 36 net.

In the B2 Flight Jon Munsgard and John Weber shot a 39 gross while Ryan Johnson and Dave Zembardo shot a 41 net.
