Sheffield performs well in Shinglehouse

SHINGLEHOUSE — Sheffield’s boys earned two wins Tuesday in a dual meet against Oswayo Valley and Northern Potter. The Wolverines beat Oswayo Valley 119-10 and were also victorious against Northern Potter 107-29.

The Sheffield girls were winners against Oswayo Valley 63-36 and dropped a nail-biter against Northern Potter 65-61.

Sheffield’s Emily Leichtenberger qualified for districts in the discus with a throw of 100 feet, 9.5 inches and the shot put with a throw of 32 feet, 3.5 inches.

Double winners for the boys were Isiah Valentin in the 100 meters and 300-meter hurdles; Quahiem Pressley in the 200 meters and 400 meters; Lucas McNeal winning all three jumping events, the long jump, high jump and triple jump; and Jesse Campbell in the discus and javelin.

For the girls, double winners were Avery Dolos in the 100 meters and 200 meters; and Leichtenberger in the shot put and discus.

The Wolverines will host North Clarion and Smethport on Monday, April 26.
