Warren boys win fourth straight
WATERFORD — Ben Berdine and Parks Ordiway combined for 20 of Warren’s 25 first-quarter points and the Dragons held on for a 60-53 Region 5 win Tuesday at Fort LeBoeuf.
Berdine had 17 of his game-high 19 points in a 39-21 first half for Warren, which won its fourth straight and improves to 10-4 overall and 6-4 in region.
“We weren’t crisp on offense in the second half,” said Warren coach Jeff Berdine. “JT (Blum) helped close it out for us — with Ben in the locker room — with some bigs plays. Region wins on the road aren’t easy.”
Blum scored 12 of his 14 points in the second half, including two 3-pointers.
He was 4 of 6 at the line in the fourth quarter.
Fort LeBoeuf had closed to within three in the fourth.
“Bryce (Blair) played well off the bench tonight,” said Berdine. “Our normal lineup was too small because they did a good job of crashing the glass.”
Tommy Nyquist paced the Dragons with 10 assists.
Kody Vega scored 18 points in Warren’s 45-21 junior varsity win.
