Steven G. Hoden, 76 of Warren, PA, died Sunday, May 11, 2025, at UPMC Hamot, Erie, PA. Steve was born Aug. 14, 1948, in Warren, PA. He was a lifelong Sheffield and Warren area resident. He was a 1966 graduate of Sheffield High School. He had served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as a Specialist 4th Grade. He had received the purple heart, combat infantry badge, national defense service medal, Vietnam campaign medal and 2 V device for valor medals. Steve had worked with the Jones Chevrolet when they were located in Sheffield, Pa., and was employed with Betts Industries as a supervisor for 45 1/2 years, retiring in 2012. He had been raised Byzantine Catholic. He was a life member of the Sheffield V.F.W. and D.A.V. Chapter 75 where he served as Junior Vice Commander.
He was a member of the Sheffield Rod & Gun Club, Warren Eagles Aerie and Conewango Club. Steve was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a diehard Cleveland Browns Fan and Pittsburgh Pirates Fan. One of his best joys in life, was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Darielle S. Burgett Hoden whom he married June 23, 1978 in Warren, Pa.; three Children – Michael Stanz and wife, Tina of Warren, PA., Christy Quinter and husband, Ron of Fairfax Station, VA., Steven Hoden and wife, Barbara of Warren, PA.; two Sisters – Kris Myers and husband, Richard of Warren, PA., Renee Carlson and husband, Brian of Georgia; seven Grandchildren – Taylor Stanz Jerman, Tanner Stanz, Marielle Stanz, Brad Quinter, Riley Quinter, Alicia Garrett, Allyx Hoden; one great-granddaughter – Peyton Stanz; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Steve Hoden, his mother, Mary Bires Hoden Metzger and stepfather, Edward Metzger, one brother – John Hoden.
Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East St., Warren, PA., on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. where a vigil service will be held at 5:45 PM
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10 A.M. on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Holy Redeemer R.C. Church, 11 Russell St., Warren, PA., by Fr. Mark O’Hern, Pastor of Holy Redeemer R.C. Church, assisted by Deacon Raymond Wiehagen. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery where full military honors will be conducted by members of the Sheffield/Clarendon V.F.W. and the Warren American Legion Post 135 funeral honor guard and members of the U.S. Army funeral detail.
