Barbara Ann Pierce Clark

Barbara Ann Pierce Clark, 89, passed away at the Hospice House in Warren, Pa. She was born on April 10, 1932, in Warren, Pa., to Norman B. Pierce and Henrietta Legters Pierce.

Barb grew up in Warren, Pa. She graduated from Warren Area High School in 1950. After high school she furthered her education by pursuing her lifelong dream of becoming a registered nurse. She attended nursing school in James-town and continued and completed it in New York City. She worked in multiple areas of nursing, spend-ing the majority of her career in the local doctor’s office in Youngsville, Pa. After 30 plus years of working, she retired to enjoy her family and the hobbies she loved. Barbara was an avid swimmer and enjoyed her pool and teaching her children and all of her grandchildren how to swim. Every one of them have “sweet” memories of spending time in the pool, playing, cooling off, and honing their skills for that Hershey Kiss that grandma promised after each accomplishment. She was a wonderful mother, grand-ma, great-grandma, wife and friend. She will be greatly missed.

Barbara married James G. Clark, Jr., in 1956 in Warren, Pa. They were happily married for 63 years. Barb was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church in Pittsfield. She was a very devout Christian, and was serious about her relationship with her Lord and Saviour. The bible was so important to her, she read through it 66 times. Barb was active in leading bible studies, prayer groups, and Sunday school for many years. She was a prayer warrior and she never ceased to pray for others. She was very active at Otterbein United Methodist Church, involved on many committees. Her faith was the basis of everything in her life and many lives were impacted by this pro-found faith in God.

Barbara is survived by her three daughters: Kimberly Clark (James) California, Julie Clark (David) Blick, Stacey Clark (Michael) Robinault; nine grandchildren: James (Heather) California, Kristi California (Kyle) Simpson, Benjamin (Liz) Blick, Randi Blick, Nathaniel Blick, Josiah (Kiara) Blick, Christian Blick, Tobi Robinault, and Riley Robinault; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews and extended family.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Henrietta Pierce; her sister, Norma Jean Neil-sen; her husband, James G. Clark Jr.; and her grand-daughter, Alexis Robinault Sharkey.

A memorial service will be held at the Otterbein Un-ited Methodist Church, in Pittsfield, on Tuesday, Oct.19. at 4:30 p.m.
