Roy Hollabaugh
Roy V. Hollabaugh, 70, of Media, PA, passed away on or near April 6, 2020. He was preceded in death by his mother, Leeila M. Bull, and his father, Roy M. Hollabaugh. He was born in Meadville, PA, on November 25, 1949.
He was a 1968 graduate of Youngsville High School. Roy graduated from Wilkes College on June 4, 1972, with a degree in Business and was involved with their Alumni Association. He enjoyed acting in both high school and college musicals and plays.
Roy was the proud father of his daughter, Leila Jean Hollabaugh, of Boyertown, PA.
He is survived by his sister Susan (Hollabaugh) Asp, her husband John, his brother David Barnes and his wife Jeanne, his adopted brother James Ivan Pangborn, nephews and nieces.
Roy’s career was centered around business management and real estate development. He was fond of the Big Brother’s Association to which he contributed for many years.
Second to his daughter, music played a very important part in Roy’s life. He inherited his father’s guitar at a very early age, beginning a lifetime of playing music and writing songs. In high school he was a member of “The Mere Mortals”, a rock n’roll band that won local awards. The band reunited for their class reunion several years ago. There are many fond memories of dances at The Youngsville Ski Lodge.
A celebration of Roy’s life will be held at a later date at one of his favorite places to play music, The Half Moon. He was tremendously loved and will be forever missed.
