Pro bono lesson: Fly-fishing experts present free seminar

The Warren Public Library will host two local, highly experienced fly fishing experts for a seminar in the “Adventure Begins at Your Library” summer series.

Tom Bergstue and Dr. John Gerber will share their experience and knowledge about the sport during a seminar on Wednesday, July 17, at 5:30 p.m.

Bergstue has taught hundreds of hours of fishing and hunting instruction in the field, college, and adult education classes, introducing thousands of people to the art and science of fly fishing.

He has been honored by Trout Unlimited publication for his contributions to trout fishing.

Dr. Gerber, a photographer, adventurer, and fly-fishing instructor, will also present. His international fly-fishing and photography experiences have taken him to Africa, India, Patagonia, and Brazil.

Attendees will learn about tying flies, essential fly fishing gear, choosing the correct fly for stream conditions, techniques, strategy, and photography tips and tricks.

Whether you’re new to fishing or an experienced angler, there will be something to learn.
