Early registration for the 2024 Warren County Victim Impact Panel’s 5K Fun Run/Walk being held on Saturday, April 13, at Betts Park ends today.

Each person registered for the run, which is held annually to raise money for the VIP’s scholarship program, by Thursday will receive a guaranteed short sleeve shirt. Remaining short sleeve shirts will be provided to those registering after Thursday on a first-come, first-serve basis, until gone.

The Warren County VIP is comprised of individuals who have been negatively affected by someone driving while under the influence. Each year the panel raises funds by holding fundraisers, like the 5K fun run, to support their scholarship program which provides an annual scholarship to a graduating senior from each highschool in Warren County.

According to Victim Impact Coordinator Monica Prowitt, “Current high school seniors in Warren County are encouraged to submit an application for a chance to earn the VIP Scholarship by Friday, April 5. The applications themselves can be located at each school, in the Warren County Courthouse – Collections office or via email request to vipwarrenpa@gmail.com.”

The race itself will take-off at 8:30 a.m. The race course consists of 3.1-miles on a flat, fast surface; which is three loops around the scenic Betts Park. Both the start and finish of the race will be located near the Betts Park boat launch.
