The Community Foundation of Warren County’s online scholarship application for the 2024-2025 school year is now open.
“Our online application process makes it easy for students to apply to one or many of the 46 scholarships available through the Foundation all with one single application,” Executive Director Mark King said.
“I invite all graduating Warren County Seniors to visit our website, cfowc.org, where they can find the link to the scholarship application under the ‘Apply For Scholarships’ menu option.”
The scholarships range from a few hundred dollars to $10,000.
“This is money you may be eligible for to help complete your education which does not need to be repaid,” King stressed. “Please apply to see what’s available to you. You could benefit from the immense generosity of many community minded donors who have provided funds over the years to help Warren County Students through scholarships for the betterment of the student and their community.”
Students who have previously received scholarships do have to renew their applications to continue receiving their scholarships.
Whether students are first time applicants or past recipients seeking to renew, Foundation Administrative Assistant, LouAnn Gadsby, stressed one key instruction,
“Please do not create duplicate applications,” LouAnn Gadsby, Foundation administrative assistant, said. “Duplicate applications from the same student cause complications and delays in the application review process.
“We never want a student to miss out on scholarship opportunities so if a student has any questions on how to proceed, or needs help with their username or password, I urge them to contact the Foundation right away,” she added. “We are here to help the students.”
Over $1 million was awarded to over 300 students during the current academic year.
Matching funds from the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency added an additional $300,000 in PATH grants open to eligible students to students who attend schools in Pennsylvania. Those matching grants are up to $2,500.
“We are very pleased with our partnership with the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency,” King said. “Their matching grants can make a significant impact on a student’s finances before graduation and in reducing the loans they have to repay after graduation.”
The online scholarship application can be found at cfowc.org. Those with questions can email cfwc@westpa.net or stop in at the Foundation’s 310 Second Ave. office.
