A one-vehicle crash claimed the life of a Warren man on Wednesday.

The accident occurred just before 9:30 p.m., according to Warren-based Pennsylvania State Police.

Brian W. Kibbey, 56, was operating a 2017 Ford Explorer on E. Fifth Avenue south of Quaker Hill Road.

Troopers along with Glade VFD, EmergyCare and City of Warren Fire crews responded to the scene.

Kibbey “appeared to be in critical condition when first responders arrived,” a statement from the state police explains.

He was “extricated by mechanical means” by Glade and City responders and transported from the scene.

Kibbey, troopers say, “was pronounced dead at Warren General Hospital.”

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
