Two City of Warren police officers have been formally commended for their role in responding to a mental health crisis on the Glade Bridge.
Mayor Dave Wortman said during Monday night’s council meeting that much of the work that police undertake goes unnoticed.
This instance, he said, highlights “actions taken to help save a life.”
Patrolman Wade Suppa and Patrolman Tyler Wagner, Wortman said, responded to a call for a report of a mental health crisis.
Wortman said that Wagner engaged the individual in conversation while Suppa “moved in to pull the person to safety.”
He highlighted the officer’s “calm demeanor” and “teamwork” in saving life and ensuring the individual received care.
“These officers’ actions … are commendable and greatly appreciated.”
