Council gets update on Lacy Park work
Warren City Council heard a presentation from Adam Meneo and Randy Gustafson with the Warren Rotary Club about phase 3 improvements to Lacy Park.
Meneo said the scope of phase three includes shade sails to cover a portion of the playground, an additional multi-sensory piece of equipment, namely a communication board that will assist non-verbal children with articulating what they want to do at the park, a butterfly garden in the stormwater area as well as a .25 mile trail around the park.
“The work that has been done at this park has been fantastic,” Wortman said, calling the joint effort with the Rotary Club a “fantastic partnership.”
“We have more money to spend on the playground because of the success of phase 1 and phase 2,” Gustafson said. “We want to do more.”
Councilman John Wortman said the success of the park would make it a good place for a survey to understand what is drawing people there as the city contemplates park improvements in the coming years.
