Paving project to start on US 6, Rt. 27
A six-mile repaving project gets underway this week in the western part of Warren County.
US 6, Route 27 and National Forge Rd. are included in the $3.9 million project that will get underway Tuesday, according to PennDOT.
US 6 from the Old Pittsfield Rd. to Railroad St. – 2.13 miles – is included as well as 1.17 miles of Rt. 27 from US 6 to Matthews Run Rd.
National Forge Rd. will also be repaved from the Youngsville Borough line to Rt. 62, the longest element of the project at 2.79 miles.
According to PennDOT, National Forge Road will be widened in addition to the repaving as well as curbs, drainage improvements and guiderail updates.
“Motorists may encounter lane restrictions with traffic controlled by flaggers,” PennDOT said.
The work, funded by a combination of state and federal dollars, is expected to be completed in December.
“Drivers should be alert for traffic pattern shifts and lane restrictions,” PennDOT said, as well as “travel delays during active work hours.”
