Warren County will receive nearly $250,000 in federal Community Development Block Grant funding.
And the county is seeking projects eligible for that funding.
Grants Administrator Danielle Flasher said during Wednesday’s commissioners meeting that the county’s allocation for 2023 is $238,496.
“None of that is earmarked for any current or in-process projects,” she said, explaining that the county is open to project ideas.
The commissioners on Wednesday also approved a $1 lease agreement with United Refining Company to lease some radio tower capacity.
Public Safety Director Ken McCorrison said that the current connectivity to a tower site is insufficient. This agreement will expand that capacity.
Commissioner Ben Kafferlin said the agreement has been in the works for a couple years.
Other actions taken by the commissioners include awarding a $121,810 contract for stormwater work on Center St. in Clarendon and reappointing Jim Decker to represent the county on the regional workforce development board.
