Activity buses available for students after school

The subject of activity buses came up Tuesday during a discussion of transportation issues related to possible school reconfiguration.

Warren County School District Transportation Manager Mike Kiehl assured people in attendance at the public engagement session that there are operating late buses in each attendance area.

He said not many high school students take advantage of those buses, but they are there.

“The Warren County School District would like to remind parents and students that late buses are a great resource to help with busy parental schedules,” Kiehl said. “Every school at the Warren County School District offers a late bus. The late buses run Monday through Thursday when school is in session.”

“The late buses were instituted to encourage students to participate in sports, clubs, and other after-school activities,” he said. “Any student is allowed to the ride the late bus to a designated bus stop in their attendance area.”

“While the late buses do not drop off students at their house, the late bus stops were made taking into consideration where larger populations of students live,” he said.
