Warren County Commissioner Tricia Durbin has been named to the board for the state-wide County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania.

Durbin will serve as the District 1 Representative.

“I look forward to the chance to serve on the board of directors for CCAP,” Durbin said. “Legislative change begins in the local governments, by joining together with other district representatives we can begin to enact change on a larger scale.”

She told the Times Observer that she intends to focus on “broadband for rural Pennsylvania” as well as improving services and funding in the area of mental health.

The role, she added, brings her into a role as a “statewide leader regarding county issues, allowing her to help bring local concerns to the attention of higher officials.”

The term will run until either she is no longer in office or resigns.

CCAP as an organization dates to 1986 as an affiliate of the National Association of Counties.

According to Durbin, the organization has identified six legislative priorities for 2023 – 911 funding, county inmates with mental health issues, county mental health funding increases, addressing the needs of children with complex behavior issues, promoting election integrity and broadband access and development.

“These priorities reflect our ongoing commitment to provide a quality service while using tax-payer dollars in the most effective and efficient way possible” CCAP President Chip”Abramovic said earlier this year.

Durbin has been heavily involved in county broadband efforts and “hopes to help complete if she is re-elected this November.”
