Funds to support Operation Homefront
The United Refining Company program is supported by the company and its customers and raises funds to support armed forces-related charities that help active-duty service members, veterans, and their families.
In November, “direct donations along with the amount committed by Kwik Fill from fuel sales from Nov. 11 through 28 totaled $176,194.88,” according to a release.
Of that funding, “$132,146.16 will be donated to Operation Homefront, a nonprofit headquartered in San Antonio, Texas that helps build strong, stable, and secure military families,” the release said. “Operation Homefront will direct those funds to recipients in the Kwik Fill market area — western New York, western Pennsylvania, and eastern Ohio.”
Another “$22,024.36 will be donated to the Special Forces Charitable Trust (SFCT),” according to the release. “SFCT provides meaningful and sustainable support to the Army Green Berets, and their Families. The SFCT supports timely, innovative, and comprehensive programs and services designed to enhance the well-being and health of the Special Forces Soldiers and their family members.
A matching amount — “$22,024.36 will be donated to the Allegheny Valley Veterans Center (AVVC),” according to the release. “AVVC provides supportive housing for homeless veterans. The mission of the AVVC is to provide a full continuum of support to homeless, unstably housed, and low-income veterans and to assist them with developing goals to transition from the AVVC into permanent housing.”
“Kwik Fill thanks all supporters of the military and veteran community in Kwik Fill country who participated in Operation Give Thanks.”
