Two Warren County teachers have been recognized for the growth their students showed in mathematics.

The Catholic Schools Office of the Diocese of Erie has presented a letter of recognition and certificate of excellence to Rita Cecco and Claire Fanelli, two teachers at St. Joseph Catholic School.

Cecco teaches third grade while Fanelli teaches fifth and sixth grade mathematics and science.

The award was for student achievement during the 2021-2022 school year, Principal Carrie Pearson said.

“Mrs. Cecco’s students scored in the 84th percentile for growth while the fifth graders scored in the 99th percentile and the 6th graders in the 93rd percentile for growth,” Pearson said.

“Both teachers,” she added, “demonstrate an outstanding amount of love, dedication, and devotion for their students, school, and parish community.”

Starting at $3.50/week.
