Local fire departments benefit from Pa. American Water Grants
Several Warren County fire departments are benefiting from Pennsylvania American Water grants during Fire Prevention Week.
The utility announced that it was providing grants to 142 fire and rescue organizations state-wide. The total amount is $71,000 – $500 per department.
Among the listed departments were four in Warren County – City of Warren Fire Department, Clarendon Volunteer Fire Department, Pleasant Volunteer Fire Department, and Starbrick Volunteer Fire Department.
The dollars are part of the PA American’s annual Firefighting Support Grant Program, according to a release, and bring the total donated since its launch in 2009 to more than $850,000.
“In concert with Fire Prevention Week’s 100th anniversary, we are proud to continue our tradition of helping our local fire departments purchase lifesaving personal protective gear, water handling equipment, firefighting tools, and training materials,” Pennsylvania American Water President Mike Doran said. “Together, water systems and fire departments deliver community fire protection, and we are proud to support the men and women who serve our local fire departments.”
